Media Studies Program
A dozen years ago, CUA's media studies program was nothing but a gleam in the eyes of several English professors. It's now the third most popular major in the School of Arts and Sciences and the program's students have won awards for the films they've made. See Research and Teaching.

A Dean With a Heart
for Older Students
Many of CUA's Metropolitan College students come to class from their 9-to-5 job and afterward will go home to laundry, a stack of dirty dishes and homework -- their own and their children's. Sara Thompson, the college's new dean, brings a world of experience from her former leadership positions at the University of Wisconsin, Johns Hopkins University and Trinity College. See People.

After 20 years of service, the change to CUA that strikes Bernard Lane the most has nothing to do with all the new buildings on campus. "It's that the students keep looking younger and younger as I'm getting older," he says with a chuckle. The chauffeur for CUA's president was one of the dozens of 20- and 10-year employees honored for 440 collective years of service on Nov. 19. See story.
