Ode to an Etruscan Urn
In 1987, Library Director Adele Chwalek ventured into the seldom-visted Curley Hall vault and spotted something on the floor behind a pillar — a dusty urn. Remarkably, the urn turned out to be a 4th century B.C. Etruscan vase, one of only seven known to have been made by a craftsman known as the Nazzano Painter. See Research and Teaching.
Former Bank Tansformed Into
University Visitors Center
It's not a bank any more. The small building on a hill across from Mullen Library will soon open as CUA's first visitors center. Students will man the center, dispensing brochures and talking about life and events on campus. See story.

Its Own Show Biz Priest
More than 100 members of the Catholic University community fondly remembered the Rev. Gilbert V. Hartke, O.P., at a reception to celebrate a new biography of this charismatic founder of CUA's drama department. See story.
