Make a Difference in Your Health and Be Rewarded
By Christine Peterson
Getting ready for those New Year’s resolutions? During 2010, CUA faculty and staff who are enrolled in any of the United Healthcare medical plans have a new and rewarding opportunity to help themselves commit to their wellness resolutions. The best place to start in developing your personalized wellness plan involves using a comprehensive assessment tool. Do you need to lose weight? Increase your level of exercise? Focus on improving management of existing health issues?
Employees and their covered spouses who choose to participate in the new CUA Wellness Program will have opportunities to earn valuable gift cards valid at hundreds of national retailers. Here is how it works…
It’s easy to get started:
Attend an upcoming health-screening event at CUA.
Complete a confidential online Health Assessment.
Enroll in a no-cost online or telephone-based health coaching program.
After attending the health-screening event, which will be offered on the CUA campus, participating employees will complete the Health Assessment process using myuhc.com. Completion of this step results in a $75 gift-card reward delivered via e-mail.
Your personal Health Assessment information will be kept confidential and used only by United Healthcare professionals to provide individualized health guidance that may help you improve your health practices.
The next step involves participation in an online health coaching program or a telephone-based health coaching program. United Healthcare will recommend one of these two programs based on the outcome of the Health Assessment. The telephone-based health coaching program is complex, time-consuming and most appropriate for people with high-risk health conditions. Participants in the online health coaching program receive a $25 gift card reward. Those who participate in the more time-consuming telephone-based health coaching program receive a $75 reward.
Remember, your health and well-being begins with you. So take control of your health today and be rewarded. Please watch for more information regarding the upcoming health-screening event at CUA. If you have questions, contact the Office of Human Resources at extension 5050.
