Did You Know?
Did you know that CUA’s libraries produce an online newsletter? The latest issue is http://libraries.cua.edu/issue3.html, and includes information on the libraries’ electronic resources and instructional classes, book reviews, a “Stump the Librarian” column and more.
CUA’s Office of the General Counsel also produces an occasional online newsletter on current higher-ed legal issues. The newsletter, CUA Counsel Online, forms part of the Office of General Counsel's Campus Legal Information Clearinghouse (http://counsel.cua.edu), which has received many compliments from other universities who consult it for information on how to comply with federal regulations. The stated goal of the clearinghouse is “to build a freely available, Web-based collection of user-friendly compliance materials to help all American college and university campuses enhance compliance with most major federal regulations applicable to higher education institutions.”
Drawing about 600 visitors daily, it is apparently the only Web page of its kind, since most universities treat such legal information as proprietary. The site is now co-sponsored by the American Council on Education, which represents 1,800 colleges and universities on legal issues such as government relations, legislation, research and public policy.
